{"id":249,"date":"2012-07-22T17:28:13","date_gmt":"2012-07-23T00:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/?p=249"},"modified":"2012-07-17T10:04:47","modified_gmt":"2012-07-17T17:04:47","slug":"2009-europe-scrapbook-colors-and-creations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/?p=249","title":{"rendered":"2009 Europe Scrapbook: Colors and Creations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The following scrapbooking layouts are some examples where I was inspired by something &#8211; colors, an object, an idea. \u00a0Our trip to Italy and France brought us to so many different cities and sights, and as I put together my scrapbook, I wanted to incorporate as much of their unique qualities as possible. \u00a0Enjoy!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>On colors:<\/em> In the first two scrapbooking layouts\u00a0(Burano and Vernazza), the brightly-colored paper choices were influenced by the colorful buildings seen throughout the towns.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The only &#8220;side trip&#8221; we took from Venice was to the nearby island of Burano, known for colorful buildings and delicate lacework.\u00a0 The other option we considered was Murano (known for the glass blowing), but we opted to go to the less popular, slightly further island of Burano.\u00a0 We spent our time wandering through the empty streets, admiring the colorful houses,\u00a0and shopping in the many lace and souvenir shops.\u00a0 I wanted to capture the fun, colorful aspect of the town in my scrapbooking page for Burano.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_0409.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-359\" title=\"Burano, Venice, Italy brightly-colored houses\" src=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_0409-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"SuitcaseJournal: Houses of Burano, Venice, Italy\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_0409-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_0409-666x500.jpg 666w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/IMG_0409-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Taken on our visit to Burano, Italy. I used a ruler, a pencil, and scissors.\u00a0 No special scrapbooking tools. \u00a0Best of all, I was able to choose the colors and exactly how I wanted the design laid out on the page.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/montmartre.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-373\" title=\"montmartre, paris, france\" src=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/montmartre-500x251.jpg\" alt=\"SuitcaseJournal: Montmartre, Paris, France by Kristin\" width=\"500\" height=\"251\" srcset=\"https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/montmartre-500x251.jpg 500w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/montmartre-750x376.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I don&#8217;t always have a great idea or use the colors of the photos to influence my pages, but when I do, I generally love the results!
