{"id":986,"date":"2012-11-23T07:45:41","date_gmt":"2012-11-23T15:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/?p=986"},"modified":"2013-05-10T08:08:43","modified_gmt":"2013-05-10T15:08:43","slug":"carmen-de-la-alcubilla-del-caracol-granada-spain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/?p=986","title":{"rendered":"Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol &#8211; Granada, Spain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Located a convenient 10 minutes away from the Alhambra and tucked away from the town center with commanding views of the city, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alcubilladelcaracol.com\/index_en.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Carmen\u00a0de la Alcubilla del Caracol<\/a>\u00a0is a perfect choice for a small bed and breakfast stay in Granada, Spain. \u00a0The small hotel has only 7 rooms, all with a view and all with access to beautiful hotel gardens and seating areas. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2468.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1002\" title=\"View from Terrace, Granada, Spain\" src=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2468-500x333.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2468-500x333.jpg 500w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2468-750x500.jpg 750w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2468-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>View from our private terrace, Granada, Spain.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Price.<\/strong> \u00a0The rooms were \u20ac120, \u20ac130, or \u20ac140 per night for our September stay, plus \u20ac8 per person\/per day for breakfast and then 8% added for taxes. \u00a0We opted for the super double room with the private terrace, which was \u20ac140. \u00a0However, all of the rooms are supposed to have a view, and the rooms for \u20ac130 even have shared or small balconies from which to enjoy Granada from above.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location.<\/strong> \u00a0The location is fantastic.\u00a0 The hotel is situated above the main center of Granada, so we walked down to get into town.\u00a0 We visited the Alhambra twice during our visit (day and night), so it was perfect to be able to walk there in only about 10-15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Room.<\/strong> \u00a0Our room was huge with two twin beds pushed together to make a king. \u00a0We were on the top floor (2 above reception) and the only room on that level. \u00a0Because it got so warm during the day, we opened up our doors once the sun started to set and let the cool night air into the room. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-1007\" title=\"Breakfast table, Granada, Spain\" src=\"http:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2306-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2306-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2306-666x500.jpg 666w, https:\/\/suitcasejournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/PortEsp2306-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Dining.<\/strong> \u00a0As I mentioned above, breakfast was available at the hotel for \u20ac8 per person. \u00a0Guests are only charged if breakfast was consumed, so there is no need to try to pre-plan. \u00a0 \u00a0It was served from about 8:30-10:30 and consisted of yogurt, fruit, tomatoes, bread, and something a little special &#8211; toasted bread with ham and melted cheese on top. \u00a0This was our absolute favorite, and our host gladly prepared it for us!
